In today's tight economy, wildlife jobs are as scarce as the Buffalo. With a bleak outlook in getting a job with any government agency, the private sector may be your last chance to find a meaningful career.

The nuisance wildlife industry is still holding it's own despite the current economic conditions. Wildlife still must be removed and controlled that is causing a nuisance.

You have worked hard and long getting your Wildlife or Forestry degree and now comes the time to search for a “job”.

If you have completed some internship programs during your schooling, this will be a big help to you in the job search. Employers are requiring experience and don’t have the time to train new employees and take away critical time from their core business. Some training will of course be needed, but the basic skills needed to do your job had better be in place.

Today’s Wildlife Management Technician will be a multi-tasker and have to understand many different computer programs as well as be knowledgeable in surveys, management plans and the like.

With the current recession, the job market has dried up in many areas of the country and in many sectors of Wildlife Management. Until the economy improves and the hiring freezes are lifted, it will be a hard road ahead for most job seekers.

If you have found yourself in this situation, have you considered hanging your own shingle and running your own business? In tough economic times, starting your own business may be the only avenue.

Wildlife Management Opportunities are available in the little known field of Nuisance Wildlife Management.

What is this, you may ask? Nuisance Wildlife Management is the art of resolving Human/Wildlife conflicts. Every year wildlife does millions of dollars of damage to properties across the country. Without the Wildlife Specialist to control the “out of control wildlife”, problems would just spiral out of control, diseases would run rampant and people would take matters into their own hands…which are not a good outcome for the wildlife.

If you have found yourself on the outside looking in, maybe now is the right time for you to catch the rising tide and join a career that is both fulfilling and lucrative!

If you are a new hire and the “low man on the totem pole”, you will be the first to go when the reduction in staff occurs.

Instead of hitching your wagon to a government job, consider the private sector for a long term career.

That might seem like a bold statement, but if you are doing what we do for a living, you wouldn’t think so!

If you have researched the many different career paths of wildlife professionals, you are finding out that there are hiring freezes, projects put on hold and just about every other roadblock to achieving your dream of working with wildlife.

Forget those roadblocks. Do you want to go down another path to one that is less traveled? I thought you might. There is no sense going down the same path and hearing the same answers.

Our company, A All Animal Control, works with wildlife across the entire United States and serves thousands of clients each year. Our services range from removing a family of squirrels from an attic to providing preventive repairs to keep out future invaders. Sprinkle in the Pigeon that found its way inside a department store or the Rattlesnake that slipped into the garage of a homeowner and it makes for an interesting day at work!

Wildlife Pest Control is one of the most fascinating career choices available. It has spawned shows like “The Verminators” and gives the general public a taste of what wildlife can do when they invade a home. Now you have to remember that shows like these are intentionally made to be dramatic and this is not what your average wildlife control professional does!

If you find yourself on the outside looking in and want to work with wildlife, there is no better time than the present. Stop listening to all the no’s and come and you will find a yes.

18 years ago I was getting out of the Air Force and living overseas. I had no job prospects and didn’t know which way to turn. The folks on base were not much help and my aircraft maintenance skills were not going to help much without a license.

Needless to say, I was a little scared about going back to the United States and having to start all over again. No place to live, no job…no luck! Fortunately I had some money saved up by selling my leave and for the time I spent in Desert Storm fighting the war. So, it was time to face my fears and go out and make something happen.

I ended up going the normal route of seeking a job and after weeks of searching found a low paying sales job. Spending about a year in this job let me know that there has to be something better out there!

A franchise was something that I never really knew much about. A little investigation into the subject led me to find out that this was a proven business model that is then duplicated across the country. It sounded pretty simple to me! One could either create a business and then franchise it or join an existing franchise system. The difference between the two is huge. Starting your own business and then perfecting the business model takes time and a lot of money for trial and error. Then you will have to franchise the business and create a FDD or Federal Disclosure Document. This documents starts out at about $10,000 to have an attorney draw up for you.

So, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, consider the franchise opportunities that are currently available to you. There are many different types of franchises that range from your sub sandwich shop to a lawn care service. If you think you will be satisfied making sandwiches all day and teaching people to do that same, this could be a great fit for you. If you are the outdoors type, staring out those windows all day will drive you mad.

If working in the outdoors is more your style, consider the many outdoor franchises available. There are many different options to suit all personality type. There are Christmas light franchises, Pest Control and Weed Treatment franchises and everything in between. Which one is right for you? That depends on your personality and what you feel you can put your heart into. If you are checking out a franchise and you don’t think you can put your heart into it, don’t do it! It will be a disappointment for you and the franchisor.

There are several franchise companies that are considered Military Friendly Franchises. Consider these first as they will offer significant discounts to you. Requirements are generally that you are an honorably Discharged Veteran.

So what would I do if I was fresh out of the military and know what I know now? I would consider whether I was a Chief or an Indian. If I was a Chief and wanted to run a business, I would consider buying a franchise. If I were an Indian, I would consider working for someone in their franchised business or other entity. It sure would have made my search for the career that I wanted much easier if I knew what options were available at the time.

Veteran Franchise Opportunities can be exactly what you need to help you smoothly transition from the military to civilian life.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2860624430862068523.post-68413677224655056242009-12-10T13:00:00.000-08:002009-12-10T13:12:13.364-08:00Military Veteran Franchise Opportunities

After you have valiantly served your country, you will no doubt be looking to do something that is exciting and replaces that fun filled job that you left behind. If you have been working in an exciting career while in the Military, the last thing you want to do is go to work in a boring job!

Many Veterans transition to finding a “job” while others want to be their own boss and carve out their own niche in the world. If you were launching jets off a carrier, going to work for McDonalds just might not be your cup of tea. You want to find something that matches your energy and is filled with excitement.

There are many franchise opportunities out there, but which one is going to fulfill that “fun factor”? Will the carpet cleaning franchise fill the bill? Probably not. How about a blind cleaning franchise? I think you know the answer to that one too.

While you are searching for a franchise, seek out franchises that are Military Friendly. These companies offer a special rate or discount to only Military Veterans in honor of their service to our country. Our Veterans deserve many things for their service and a significant discount to help them start a business while they are starting over is something that will serve them well and secure their future!

Military Veterans historically do well when they own their own franchise. With the discipline and ability to seek out solutions rather than focus on the problem, there is no obstacle that the Military Franchise owner can overcome. This is what Veterans are taught to do during their Military service. When they apply that to their business, great things happen. Another thing that makes them successful is that a franchise is a set of systems with procedures and checklists. The Veteran is well versed in how to follow procedure and checklists to accomplish critical tasks. This naturally offers them a plan to follow for success.

When interviewing Military Friendly franchises, ask them how many military members are on their team. Ask them if the leadership is prior service. Would you rather invest in a franchise that was owned by a Veteran or one that was trying to capitalize on your talent by being “Military Friendly”?

The key to investing in a Military Veteran Franchise Opportunity is finding an opportunity that fits you. Find something that you can put your heart and soul into and you will be successful. Stay away from the get rich quick ideas and base your decision on the best career field for your interests.

There are many franchise opportunities available today. Few of these opportunities offer Veteran programs and are Military Friendly. You were part of a large team while you were in the Military and joining a team that has your best interests in mind is something to consider when making your decision.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2860624430862068523.post-71634938603105187932009-12-08T09:34:00.000-08:002012-04-17T13:22:45.148-07:00Game Warden Jobs
Everyone is looking for a Game Warden Job and few are finding them. Why? There just are not many of these jobs available.

With the schools of America deceiving their prospective students with claims of "50,000" Game Wardens retiring in the next 5 years or "Environmental Field Exploding Growth", it is no wonder that young people believe they will be able to find a job in this field when they get out of school.

With the recent downturn in the economy, wildlife job seekers have been struggling to find good paying jobs working with wildlife.

Government wildlife jobs are becoming fewer and farther between as budgets dry up and a massive wave of employment applications and resumes bury their desks daily.

With so many people applying for a wildlife job from the government, it is harder than ever to find employment there as they can pick and choose whomever they want.

So where does that leave the wildlife management career seeker? Out in the cold in most cases.

How about this idea....How about joining a team of Wildlife Management Professionals and owning your own business working with Nuisance Wildlife? Sounds crazy right? Yes..it is a little out of the ordinary, but these are extraordinary times! Layoffs and unemployment rising to almost 10%, a broken down housing industry and so many other issues facing our nation, now is the best time to open a business and provide for you and your family!

If you can't find a job, create your own opportunity by joining team of Wildlife Professionals at A All Animal Control. Make a difference in your life and do something for yourself today!
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2860624430862068523.post-65892107185935701082009-07-21T13:20:00.001-07:002012-04-17T13:24:06.783-07:00Wildlife Control Jobs
No matter how the media spins the story today, it always appears that we will all be standing in the bread line by week’s end.

Bad news sells and sells well. But the reality of the situation is that we are in a tough economy and people are getting laid off and downsized. We all could wait until the economy returns to normal and things get perking again, but waiting is not going to help you put money back in your bank account.

When it comes to the point where you must change your career, you must change it to a field that is growing instead of shrinking. The writing is on the wall for the financial industry and the housing industry is in rough shape as well.

There is an industry that’s growing and is a perfect fit for people who like to work with wildlife. The Nuisance Wildlife Management industry is steadily on the move. What is creating this growth? Human growth!

As human growth continues to rise and encroach into what was formerly wildlife habitat, something has to give. What happens is that wildlife typically finds residence in a home or commercial business and when that happens, something has to go!

Nuisance Wildlife Managers find themselves busily fixing the situations that nature finds itself in. When wildlife ventures into human habitat, the two often do not mix well. The sight of a mother Raccoon with four or five babies trailing behind her seeking out the dog food bowl in the back yard is not exactly what some people would call a “wonderful thing”.

Some people have more tolerance for wildlife than others. These people could have an elephant living in their attic and it wouldn’t bother them! Others cannot stand the sight of a house mouse sneaking about the house.

With the growth of our nation, the human/wildlife conflicts will continue to rise. This rise in conflicts will translate into a field that continues to grow and prosper.

With such a large country and variety of wildlife, Wildlife Managers will encounter many different and often times very unique moments! Not many people get the opportunity to see a family of foxes being raised under a deck and provide a solution to remove them to a new location. For a professional Wildlife Manager, this is all in a day’s work.

Working with wildlife in a wildlife management job is an extremely thrilling lifestyle. It really is a lifestyle and not merely a “job”. A job is something you go to every day and would rather be doing something that you love to do. Trading your day job for a wildlife job is not as difficult as you would think. If you are self-motivated, have no fear of wildlife and are of the adventurous mindset, this could be the most unique opportunity you have ever found.

Who should not work with wildlife? If you are afraid of heights, lose your cool easily and do not like confined spaces like an attic or crawlspace, you may not be the best candidate for wildlife control. Do some serious thinking about whether this career will fit you before you decide to jump in.
There I was, taking my daily commute into Denver to the Heating and Air Conditioning shop. I had to drive 10 miles to work and those 10 miles took me an hour and a half on a good day. What a waste! Spend 3 hours of my day going to and from a job that I hated!

I did this day after day after day. Go to the sheet metal shop, bang out ductwork all day long and then come home. Then at the end of the week I would get a teeny tiny paycheck and barely made ends meet.

I had a boss that I absolutely didn’t get along with and a job that was going nowhere. I needed a job that challenged me. The thought of becoming a service technician and working on HVAC units was exciting. I approached the owner of the business and he turned me down flat.

Great….here I am stuck in this sheet metal shop for the rest of my life. Well, I had been in worse situations, so I thought I should stick it out. Besides, I had a family and needed to take care of them.

The days only got longer in the shop. My hopes for a way out moved further from my thoughts. I was beginning to settle into this job and tried to like it. It worked for a while, but the nagging inside returned and would not go away.

Something had to give. I had a great love for the outdoors and wildlife. This passion was more powerful than anything I could ever dream of doing for a career.

As a young man I spent my time hunting and catching animals and as much time in nature as possible. I practically lived in the woods! It was a fantastic hobby for me growing up in rural Indiana. I was about to turn this passion into something that would change my life forever.

Fate decided to intervene.

I received a call from a neighbor that was having a problem with squirrels getting into her attic. I had a live cage so I decided to see if I could help her out. I inspected her house and sure enough the squirrels had taken up residence in the attic. I baited my live cage and asked her to call me when I had a catch.

It wasn’t long before my phone rang with a catch! My first squirrel! I removed the squirrel and reset the trap and caught another one shortly after that.

When I was complete with the removal, she asked me to put a patch over the hole that the squirrel was getting in. I thought “sure, I can do that”.

Then the owner wanted to pay me for what I did. She asked me ”How much do I owe you?” I fiddled around for a minute and thought up an answer of “How about fifty bucks?” She wrote me out a check and I was on my way!

Wow! I just helped somebody out with a wildlife problem and got paid to do it! That is when the idea of a Nuisance Wildlife Management Business was born. I couldn’t believe that I could get paid to catch and remove wildlife!

I began to work this business part-time while I went to work at the job I hated. The hate for the sheet metal shop only got worse with each passing day and I knew I had to get this trapping business off the ground ASAP.

I started to get the word out about my little wildlife business and started getting calls for other types of problem ranging from a raccoon in a fireplace to skunks under porches.

The business grew and before I knew it there were four technicians working for me!

After some thought about how I could help others “who hated their job”, I decided to offer this service as a franchise. Now I could help someone start a business part-time and deliver them from that life of hating their job forever!

There is no sense in being miserable in your work when there are many other things you can do to make a living. Life is just too short to be miserable!

I too was one of those that hated their jobs and I know first-hand how that feels. You might love your job but don’t like the people you work with. It really lands you in the same situation.

Make a change this year that will change your life. You only have one life to live while you are here on earth. Make it your best one!
